Tradition...
La Peyrecout
,circa 1700, a renovated Corps de Ferme, is set in three acres of tranquil hillside amidst
beautiful farm and woodlands.
...development...
The
farm was designed and grew with the barns and houses, built around a
central courtyard. Many of the original buildings still remain to
provide both our own home and your holiday gîte. The remaining
land surrounds the farm house and the private swimming pool and in the
summer recently planted wild flowers attract the more exotic
insects, including the beautiful Humming Bird Moth. We have begun to set
up an orchard area which has a variety of fruit trees including figs,
peaches, apricots, nectarines, pears apples and walnuts which will begin
to bear fruit in 2008 hopefully!
..around the
farm
Currently around the farm you can see a Little Owl nesting in the walls,
Green and Spotted woodpeckers, Merlins, Hen Harriers and Black Kites and along the local rivers we regularly see Kingfishers and Herons. At
dusk in the summer you can see the house martins and bats as they
dive in and out of the barns. We have a variety of lizards around
including the sun loving chitchats and ponderous Salamanders. In the
spring and early summer the paths and fields are full of wild flowers.
